Hélène Sevaux’s diverse background on both sides of the lens, and her international upbringing in France and the United States, make her a wise and worldly director and producer. Raised in New York City, she later lived and studied in Paris and at Brown University in Rhode Island. She’s at home in four languages, conversant in Italian and Spanish as well as her native English and French. Starting out as an actress in French theatre, television and film, she’s worked in production—recently as Assistant Producer on features like director Luca Guadagnino’s film A Bigger Splash with Ralph Fiennes and Tilda Swinton, and as Field Producer for programs like the Netflix series The Mind of a Chef. Hélène has directed documentary and commercial work for clients primarily in fashion, and has also worked in the art world, including directing a documentary about painter Aya Takano, a Takashi Murakami protégé, for Galerie Perrotin. Currently based in New York City, Hélène is a visual thinker, a sensitive storyteller, and an experienced hand at the practical logistics of film and video production—and also, as a director of her own short films like Prima Donna, a filmmaker on her own continuing journey.
